About the BDGC
Founded in 2024, the Brandon Disc Golf Club was established to advocate for the expansion of disc golf in Brandon, Manitoba. We’re focused on creating a tight-knit community of people who love the sport. Our goals include the installation of a permanent course within the city of Brandon, and the development of what we hope will be a long-lasting tradition of community events.
Meet the Board!
Sharon Enns, President
(she/her)
Since getting hooked on disc golf in 2018, Sharon has been passionate about the sport. From the start, she’s been an advocate for bringing disc golf to the City of Brandon. Her efforts have yielded a strong relationship with the City of Brandon Parks & Recreation Department. This, in turn, has resulted in several successful events in the city – even without a permanent course. Sharon’s dream is to have a permanent course installed in Brandon and to foster a healthy community of disc golf-lovers.
Thomas Weber, Treasurer
(he/him)
Thomas has been an avid disc golfer since the summer of 2023. He is passionate about growing the sport within the community and believes in promoting inclusivity and supporting junior players. Thomas brings experience in managing funds, event planning, and a commitment to volunteerism to the board. He is dedicated to serving the Brandon and area disc golf community and excited for another season!
Steven Murray, Vice President
(he/him)
After picking up his first Latitude 64 starter set, Steven was instantly hooked on disc golf. He tries to get out to play as much as possible during the nice weather, and sometimes even in the not nice weather. He has helped design and constantly improve a pop-up course in Alexander, as well as making a more complicated layout for his disc golf group to play at CHS. Steven is looking forward to having a permanent course in the city and hopes to work towards having more in the future.
Julie Badiou, Secretary
(she/her)
Julie started playing disc golf in 2018 and fell in love with watching the discs fly, especially without having to run after them. She has played on many courses and in different tournaments in Manitoba and found a friendly welcoming community. She looks forward to being a part of growing the sport in Brandon and has her fingers crossed for achieving her first ace in the near future.
